Day Three and more exciting things than we could have imagined!
We had a wonderful breakfast at the Best Western Plus Portland where we met Peras Hodgkin. So much fun chatting about the area and things to see. Staying there felt like home. Amazing staff.
Then our good friend Steve Jones joined us on the bike. On we went to a quaint town of Troutdale where we enjoyed a cup of coffee and caught up.
Super fun group of cyclists arrived just as we were getting ready to leave so we stayed a little longer to chat. Met Darrell and many others…many who had relocated to Oregon from California! Then onward we went along the Historic Columbia River highway until we had to say goodbye to Steve at the former ‘Tippy Canoe’ restaurant. So good to see him and hopefully our paths will cross again soon.
We continued on eastbound towards Crown Point and Multnomah Falls, eventually crossing over the bridge of the gods entering Washington. Much of the Columbia gorge is an absolute beautiful area, it was well worth riding this section on the Oregon side. More to come as we continue along the Columbia river over the next few days.
