Day 49 – Carter Lake, Iowa
With several days rest and having enjoyed exploring Omaha, we’re excited to get to RAGBRAI L!
The morning was spent cleaning and tuning bikes, sorting kits and preparing for our week ahead in the corn.
Zachary would arrive this afternoon around 3 and we’re so excited to share his first RAGBRAI with him.
We walked to the airport hoping to both surprise and help Zachary with his gear.
It was so great to see him walk up the concourse. As we got to the baggage area, we ran in to another friend-Stu Carter! (Founder of the Air Force Cycling Team) We were hoping to connect. He’ll be riding with Primal.
Once everything was gathered, we headed to the hotel to drop everything off and then downtown for a quick bite. The town was a buzz with cyclists from all over gathering for the 50th RAGBRAI. Some were there for the first time while others, repeat visitors. Back to the hotel, we start to prep for the week ahead. Once again, we will be utilizing Pork Belly Ventures for tent service and move our duffles daily.
Our next 8 days will be jam packed!
