In 2020,
Katherine relocated from Loma Linda to Newport in 2020. After living in a number of places throughout the United States, Katherine “came home”. The Midwest has always been “home” so it was an easy decision to make. There are seasons and wonderful people.
“Living in California is hard. There are lots of people, traffic, smog and it’s expensive”. “I love California and enjoy visiting.” She shared how much more gasoline costs in California, siting politics and the economy as other reasons to leave California.
“Living in the Midwest is just easier. It’s more green, there’s more space, nature and nice people.”
“I always try to be kind and gracious. In California, I found it was met with suspicion, like ‘What do you want?’ unlike here where kindness is met with kindness.”
